At-home exercise programs for seniors

Dr. Katie Wadland, PT, DPT, Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (License #18193) is a 2008 Graduate of the MGHIHP and Owner of Healthy Aging Physical Therapy. Katie is also an AIB-certified Vestibular + Concussion therapist, PWR! Moves therapist, Yoga vs. Osteoporosis certified teacher and certified Mental Health First Aid instructor.  She has over 15 years of experience working in inpatient, outpatient and home care rehabilitation settings and has worked at some of the region's best hospitals and home care agencies including Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital and Beth Israel Lahey Health at Home.

Since opening Healthy Aging Physical Therapy in July of 2020, Katie has grown this ‘pandemic pivot’ project from a single-provider model to a thriving ten-clinician practice. Healthy Aging Physical Therapy provides Medicare B Outpatient at Home PT and OT for older adults, people with Parkinson's Disease and other complex medical and neurologic diagnoses and disorders. Katie also feels passionately about population health and community education; Healthy Aging promotes community health by partnering with local senior centers and other community groups to offer therapist-led strength, balance and Parkinson's-specific exercise classes and educational workshops. Katie teaches our FUNctional Fitness, POWER over Parkinson’s, Strong Bones/Strong Life and Strong and STEADI programs, which you can learn more about by clicking on the images below.

When she's not sprouting more gray hairs trying to manage her busy practice, she can be found driving her preteen daughters to and from swim team, playing with her senior dog, Snoop, and spending time with her husband, who instead of something nice and quiet, decided to take up drumming as a hobby during the pandemic. She also tries to spend time each week lifting heavy weights and practicing yoga, and loves to see live music, spend time in the woods and to take her family on adventures.

Dr. Wadland manages the Community Education and Fitness programming, and sees patients throughout our service territory, as well as virtually via Telehealth. To request an evaluation with Dr. Wadland, please fill out the form below:
