Insurance & Payment for Services

At Healthy Aging Physical Therapy, we strive to make accessing high-quality care as easy and transparent as possible. Below is a breakdown of the insurance plans we accept, how out-of-network billing works, and the wellness options we offer for services not covered by insurance.

In-Network Insurance Plans

We are In Network with the following insurance plans:

  • Medicare Part B

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)

If you have one of these plans, we will take care of all the paperwork required to get started with care. You can simply register as a new patient and we’ll handle the rest.

Out-of-Network Insurance Plans

We are Out of Network with all other insurance plans. This means we do not have a direct contract with your insurance company, but we are happy to bill your insurance on your behalf if your plan includes out-of-network benefits.

We frequently work with patients who carry:

  • Tufts Medicare Preferred (See our Tufts Page Here for more information)

  • Harvard Pilgrim PPO Plans

  • Humana PPO Plans

  • Aetna PPO Plans

Please note that reimbursement and coverage vary based on your specific policy. We are happy to assist you in verifying your out-of-network benefits. Unfortunately, we do not accept United HealthCare at this time. (See our UHC Page for alternative options and guidance on receiving care.)

Skilled Therapy vs. Wellness Services

We offer two types of services depending on your needs:

  • Skilled Therapy
Covered by insurance when care is deemed medically necessary. This includes physical therapy and occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for conditions such as weakness, pain, balance impairment, recent injury, or neurological diagnoses like Parkinson’s disease.

  • Wellness Services
Private-pay options for patients whose needs fall outside of what insurance will cover. This includes:

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates

Healthy Aging Physical Therapy complies with the No Surprises, which states that under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to provide a good faith estimate of expected charges for items and services to individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services.

You will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate at time of evaluation that outlines any copays, coinsurances or other charges potentially associated with your care. A copy of this document is available by download below.
