About Dr. Elizabeth Abare, PT, DPT
Dr. Elizabeth Abare, PT, DPT is a licensed Physical Therapist who earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in January of 2024. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Marist College, graduating in 2021. Her foundation in Athletic Training sparked a deep interest in exercise physiology and rehabilitation, ultimately inspiring her to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Elizabeth has clinical experience in the acute care setting where she primarily treated patients on general medicine, oncology, cardiac medicine, and cardiac surgery floors. This exposure deepened her passion for working with individuals who have complex and diverse medical backgrounds and needs. Alongside her clinical work, she continues to enjoy treating athletes of all levels, helping them recover from injuries, enhance performance, and return to the activities they love.
Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family and friends in and around Boston, as well as relaxing on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. One of her favorite pastimes is discovering new restaurants and exploring different cuisines.
She is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care and strives to empower every patient through education and movement to improve their function, confidence, and overall well-being.
In 2024, Elizabeth was honored with the Ruth P. Hall Clinical Fellowship Award from the APTA of Massachusetts, an annual recognition awarded to a physical therapy student who exemplifies the dedication, compassion, and professionalism that defined Ruth Hall’s distinguished career in physical therapy.
