Yoga vs. Osteoporosis
Are you one of the 55,000,000 Americans with Osteoporosis or Low Bone Density?
Yoga vs. Osteoporosis is a series of 12 Yoga Poses that promote improved bone density by applying dynamic tension to the bones that need it most - the femur, pelvis, spine and bones of the wrist.
These poses were proposed, modified and studied by Dr. Loren Fishman, over a ten year period, in a study of over 700 individuals with osteopenia and osteoporosis. Of the 227 individuals who performed the series at least every other day, for a period of two years, he found that over 80% had significant improvements in bone mineral density, with an average of 5% change. No injuries were reported. To read this landmark study, click here.
Poses can be performed at beginner, intermediate or advanced levels and should be held for 40-70 seconds each. For best results, perform daily. Watch the videos below to learn more or try these poses at home.
